Leeson Polyurethanes Facility was consumed by fire on 27th August 2021. When planning for a complete rebuild, the client placed significant emphasis on robust fire performance and quality.

Our Role

1Eighty selected by interclass to provide design support & supply and install all new metal roof & wall cladding. Whilst the clients specifications were focused on fire performance, elements of the specification added cost whilst not improving performance or quality, cost effective alternatives with equal performance were identified by 1Eighty and subsequently included within the design & construction.

Our Works

Tata Trisobuild RWL roof cladding system was selected. This included a 32/1000 0.7mm steel profiled liner sheet with sealed joints, the Tata instaloc bracket system, 360mm high, & 360mm deep Euroclass A1 rated thermal insulation from Superglass. The external sheet was a 32/1000 0.7mm profile finished in Tata Colourcoat LG Albatross. The system benefits from a 25yr coating guarantee & certified BRooft(4) fire performance. Incorporated into the roofing were Tata Triple skin polycarbonate rooflights, equating 10% of the roofing area. Tata Trisobuild Firewall systems in vertical and horizontal application were selected. These systems incorporate the same components as roofing application, with the expectation of insulation, Mineral wool insulation 200mm thick was selected.
