3. Working with Content & Rich Text Editors

- Click + New next to the container.
- Fill out the core fields: Headline Title, Publication Date, Summary/Teaser, Body Copy, and Featured Thumbnail Image.

How do I schedule an article for future publication?
If your template supports date filtering, set the Publish Date field to a future date and time and save the page. Front-end queries automatically hold back the post until that date arrives.
5. SEO & Social Media Metadata
Where do I find SEO fields when editing a page?
Look for the dedicated SEO or Meta tab located along the top editor navigation when viewing any page.
How do I optimize Meta Titles and Descriptions?
- Meta Title: Enter a concise title (50–60 characters). If left blank, ProcessWire falls back to the main Page Title.
- Meta Description: Write a 150–160 character overview snippet to display in Google search results.
What is a Canonical URL field, and when should I set it?
Canonical tags prevent duplicate content penalties across search engines. Leave this blank by default. Fill in a full URL (e.g., https://originalsite.com/post/) only if you are syndicating or republishing content originally posted on another site.
How do I control social media share cards (OpenGraph)?
- OpenGraph Image: Upload a
1200 x 630pixel image for social media cards on Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and Slack. - OpenGraph Title & Description: Optional override fields. If left blank, social platforms use your primary Meta values.
How do I hide a page from Google search indexes?
Open the page's SEO or Settings tab, check the Robots / Prevent Search Indexing box (or select noindex, nofollow), and save.
6. Deleting, Trashing, and Unpublishing Pages
How do I move a page to the Trash?
Open the page in Edit mode, click the Delete tab (or red Trash button in the footer), and confirm by clicking Trash Page.
How do I restore a page from the Trash?

Why can't I edit a specific page or see menu options?
ProcessWire uses role-based permissions (e.g., Admin, Editor, Author). If options are missing, contact your system administrator to update your user account permissions.
